Robert Oliver sensed a need among local cancer patients for greater choice when it came to opportunities to express themselves and formed an art group.
It was formed thanks to a research grant from the Foundation of Nursing Studies' (Developing Practice Small Projects Programme).
Rob works alongside professional artist Sarah Gillard to facilitate the art groups.
He said "The process of expression often proved to be as important to the group as the finished product although with Sarah's gentle guidance, the group felt rightly proud of their achievements."
The next expressive art group starts in July at the FORCE Centre, Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Barrack Road, Exeter, and will meet between 2pm and 4pm.
