AXMINSTER policeman PC Andy Carmichael is moving to Exeter after six years of covering the area.PC Carmichael will move from the town's outlying villages to join the Child Abuse Investigation Unit following a successful period of secondment.Sergeant David Sheldrake said: "On a personal level I am very sorry to see Andy go. He has been a very popular officer with the rural communities and the type of officer people tell me they want to see on the beat."Andy's job has been advertised internally and we hope to have a replacement as soon as possible. "In the meantime, PCSO Amanda Jones and the rest of the team will be covering Andy's beat."I wish Andy all the very best in his new role and thank him for his dedication and hard work over the past six years.
