Officers tackle Axminster flat blaze

Smoke was seen coming from property above sign shop

A flat fire in Axminster has been tackled by firefighters this morning.

The fire service were called to reports of smoke coming from the property in Lyme Street at 11.42am.

Fire engines from Axminster, Colyton, and Seaton were mobilised to the scene.

Upon arrival crews made a deployment using two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.

Crews also used positive pressure ventilation and thermal image camera to tackle the blaze.
