Reservations are open at Offwell School, near Honiton, for any insects and/or arachnids who would like to take up residence in their recently opened ‘bug hotel’.

The school says rooms in the hotel are palatial and varied to accommodate all different species – there is still some availability but it is proving popular!
The hotel was made by parent Tony Brown.
The nursery and reception children form the school have been on welly walks to collect natural furnishings for the hotel and the class has been delighted to spot some of the new residents.
The RSPB says: “Bugs are having a tough time. With old walls increasingly knocked down, the cracks and crevices that bugs use to shelter, live and breed are being destroyed. A bug hotel is simple, a great way of recycling, and provides all kinds of creepy crawlies with somewhere to live.”
