SOUTH West England 2012 Olympic Director Lt Col Guy Lavender will hold a lecture at Kilmington Village Hall on Friday.

'The Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games and Preparations for London 2012' has been opened to all comers by the village's branch of the Royal British Legion.

The event starts at 7.30pm and entrance is free but donations to the Poppy Appeal are requested in the 'Admiral's Jug' during the evening.

Retired from the British Army over two years ago, Guy's power-point presentation will include pictures and film from China and lessons learnt from Beijing.
