WITH a smart new outdoor area and an anniversary to celebrate, Dunkeswell Pre-School is throwing open its doors to the community.Pre-school users past and present, as well as parents who may use it in the future and local residents are all invited to mark the completion of a Lottery project and the facility's 15th anniversary on Saturday, September 13.After gaining an £8,000 grant and attracting a further £2,000 from local residents, the pre-school's outdoor space has been transformed.Pre-school chairman Sheila Baker showed the Herald around the improved area last Wednesday."There was mass community support for this project," she said."Work was carried out over the summer. It's just a wonderful outdoor environment for all seasons."A fun new safety surface and an outdoor canopy mean the space can be used all year round, and a large new shed houses lots of new ride-on toys. The open day will take place between 2pm and 4pm, and will include a puppet show, puppet-making workshop, a bouncy castle and refreshments."We are hoping to see as many people as possible," said Mrs Baker.Dunkeswell Pre-School, which achieved an 'outstanding' Ofsted report, is now offering full day sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays. Half day sessions are available five days a week.
