The hotly-anticipated opening date of Honiton’s new Railway Inn has been announced.

The doors to the gastropub will open on Thursday, June 7.

New owners Paul Greenhead and Beth Cowley have been working behind the scenes to fix the pub up, which closed in April last year.

Paul, an award-winning chef of 20 years, has devised a menu showcasing the best of modern French and English fare, cooked with a classical twist.

A fish specials board has also been cooked up by the chef, who with his partner previously ran the popular tapas restaurant Café Catalan in Exeter for several years.

Speaking previously to the Herald, Mr Greenhead said: “We are not about getting accolades. It’s about being busy and making a name of ourselves here.”
