OVER 200 survey forms have been filled out by Seaton residents in response to proposals to introduce on-street pay and display parking in the town.
Community group Seaton's Voice, formed to promote and support activities in the town hall, conducted a survey on Saturday, February 13, to gauge residents' views on the parking proposals.
Devon County Council plans to implement parking charges in Sea Hill, Seafield Road, Eyre Court Road, Fore Street, Queen Street, Cross Street, Harepath Road and The Esplanade.
But the survey, held in The Square, found the majority of people were against paying for parking.
Those who agreed with it said it should be limited to along The Esplanade.
One of the event organisers, Gaynor Sedgwick, said: "Over 200 surveys were completed in two hours.
"It went really well and people were just falling over themselves to put their name to something which said they were opposed to parking metres."
