A long-standing empty unit in Honiton’s Lace Precinct is set to be filled – by Specsavers.

The opticians will move to Lace Walk with the intention of opening before July 21.

Stephen Auty, store director at Honiton Specsavers, said: “This store will be temporary solution to allow us to continue to offer our services in Honiton during the substantial construction works that are required on our existing building on High Street.

“The temporary store, while temporary in name, will look quite different from our currently layout and will also offer additional testing capacity.”

The Honiton Specsavers store will close this Saturday afternoon ahead of the Lace Walk store’s anticipated opening this Thursday (July 19).

Mr Auty added: “We expect to be in the Lace Walk store for six to nine months.

“The store telephone number will remain the same, and eye tests can continue to be booked online during our short closure period.

“Myself, store manager Helen Coulthard and the team look forward to welcoming you in Lace Walk.”
