'Outstanding' Ofsted report for Awliscombe

CHILDREN and staff at Awliscombe Church of England Primary School ended the school year with a series of celebrations after achieving some of their best ever exam results and winning high praise from education inspectors.

CHILDREN and staff at Awliscombe Church of England Primary School ended the school year with a series of celebrations after achieving some of their best ever exam results and winning high praise from education inspectors. Every aspect of school life was judged outstanding or good by Ofsted inspectors. A separate inspection by the Diocese of Exeter was equally complimentary. The school's Year 6 pupils achieved some of the best-ever results in their SATS tests this summer, with a significant number of children achieving the higher Level 5 in English, maths and science. Every pupil in Year 6 achieved the expected Level 4 or above in science, mirroring last year's results. The maths' results rose to 100 per cent
