Nearly a third of parents or carers say they are unhappy with how things are run

Troubled All Saints Primary School, near Axminster, has been given a black mark by almost a third of people taking part in an official survey.

By yesterday (Tuesday) morning 36 parents or carers had responded to a new questionnaire on the Ofsted website.

While the majority is happy with the way the 128 pupil-school is being run and the way their children are taught, a significant number – around 33 per cent – have expressed concerns and say they would not recommend the school to another parent.

The ‘Parent View’ survey was launched by Ofsted last October and All Saints is the first local school to receive a sufficient number of responses to make publishing their results statistically worthwhile.

The mixed results follow unrest amongst factions at the school over the continuing absence of headteacher Christine Hollidge.

It is understood she left her post more than five months ago pending an investigation, the outcome of which is being delayed because of her ill health.

The survey results as at 9.30am yesterday – given in per centage terms - were:
