Community safety officer believes in his job.
GERRY Moore, of the East and Mid Devon Community Safety Partnership, has told a meeting in Honiton that partnerships between agencies can really work to reduce crime.
Addressing a Devon and Cornwall Police Authority liaison meeting, held at Honiton Community College, he said: “There is merit in working together.
“In the last two years, crime has come down quite dramatically.
“I can say, with my hand on my heart, that most types of crimes have shown a reduction.”
Mr Moore added: “I have been in my job for six years and I firmly believe in what we are doing.”
Mr Moore, who is the Anti Social Behaviour Order co-ordinator for East Devon, spoke about ASBOs and interventions, and said the second community safety partnership booklet would soon be delivered to households with the Midweek Herald.
He urged people to look out for the booklet and to keep it for future reference.
