Customers and staff rescue woman from the track

A woman had to be rescued after falling onto the railway track at Axminster Station on Saturday morning.

A spokesperson for the South West Trains-Network Rail Alliance said: “Shortly before 10am on Saturday, January 24, a passenger who was travelling in the direction of London Waterloo fell from the platform at Axminster station.

“She was assisted by customers and staff who helped her back onto the platform.

“Staff called an ambulance as a precautionary measure.”
