Richard Turner explain his ‘dark to light, soft too hard’ mantra

Members of the Axminster Art Society enjoyed a pastel demonstration by Richard Turner at their recent meeting.

He kept his audience enthralled with a stream of information and explanation as he worked.

Richard’s mantra is “dark to light, soft to hard, thin to fat and dull to bright”.

He kindly emailed full details of his approach to art and of his materials which the society hopes to post onto its website.

The next meeting of the society will be on Wednesday October 18, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, when Terry Whitworth will demonstrate pen and wash.

Meanwhile members are preparing for a November exhibition in The Lyme Regis Town Mill Malthouse Gallery.

For exhibition details people should ring Moya Paul 01297442956

For further details of all the society’s many activities people should visit the website although at the time of going to press this was currently being updated.
