I am writing with reference to the letters from Mrs Jones which have been critical of Mr Semple and others who have sought to examine new developments in Seaton. Commercial developers seek profit and rarely, if ever, offer a balanced view of both the benefits and drawbacks of their proposals. Groups in Seaton have sought to raise awareness of key issues. These groups contain a cross section of the community including some who were born in Seaton and have lived here more than 35 years. They are not biased against new developments and will actively encourage those which will bring benefits to the Seaton community.I trust our town council but they have no option other than to remain impartial in any debates on current proposals. It is vital that the residents of Seaton should make comment and offer opinions on the proposals and feel they can do this without fear of provoking personal attacks. Paul GrintWest AcresSeaton
