INNOVATIVE work by an East Devon artist, who overcame injury to develop her unique style, has gone on display in Honiton.Pery Burge's Inksplosion exhibition, at the East Devon Business Centre, at Heathpark, marks the images achieved over a decade, after a repetitive strain injury in her right hand left her unable to paint.Miss Burge, of Ottery St Mary, said: "It was awful. I was registered disabled and it affected everything I tried to do."Art is the thing that I do most and what takes up most of my time. I work to fund my art."I was desperate to paint. I taught myself to use a brush with my left hand but then started to develop a technique where I didn't need one."Experiments led Miss Burge to create images using ink in water - scenes she has photographed. The results are amazing.Inksplosion charts the fantastic effects achieved. The exhibition runs well into December.
