PICTURES: Christmas fun at Colyton
Residents and visitors alike get into the festive spirit at Colyton’s Christmas Fair.
The streets of Colyton was filled with plenty of festive spirit for its annual Christmas fair.
The event, which is organised by Colyton Caterpillars Pre-School, boasted a packed programme of events for all ages last Wednesday.
The town was filled with plenty of stalls and Father Christmas even stopped by for a visit.
There were plenty of activities for children which included exploring a fire engine, meeting a donkey, arts and crafts and much more.

Entertainment was provided by majorettes, local dance groups and band Six Feet Below.
Colyton carnival queen Courtney Newton-Moloney and carnival princess Phoebe Rabjohns had the duty of switching on the Christmas lights, which attracted crowds outside the town hall.

A new edition to the event this year was ‘wish upon a balloon’.
A spokeswoman for organisers Colyton Caterpillars Pre-School said: “The Colyton Fayre was, yet again, a great success. Many people turned out on a very cold night.
“Mulled wine, hot chocolate and soups were very popular to keep visitors happy and warm. The town hall at one point was packed solid – to the delight of stall holders who all said they did remarkably well on the night.”
She added: “Shops and businesses had gone to great lengths to provide the public a great Christmas shopping experience.”
A lot of money was raised for CLIC Sargent and other charities and community projects.
Colyton Caterpillars thanked eveyone for their support and involvement on the night.
