Dozens of people gathered in Whimple village on Saturday evening for the annual Wassailing ceremony. The event, aimed at ‘waking up’ the apple trees to ensure they produce a good harvest took in a number of local orchards. Villagers sang the Wassailing Song, enjoyed some cider, made some noise and generally had a great time.
