In September earlier this year, documents were submitted to East Devon District Council outlining the demolition of two existing buildings in Vintage Courtyard, between Fore Street and Marine Parade.

Under the scheme, outlined by NDM Architects, a 312m² block consisting of nine flats and two retail units would be raised in their place, served by basement parking for 12 cars and a large storage area.

The application proposed opening up the courtyard area to create of the walkthrough from Fore Street to the Co-op car park.

The flats would have comprised a one-bed and three-bed each, with seven two-bed units, spread across three floors.

The third floor would be the penthouse, boasting three double bedrooms and exiting onto an ‘extensive’ roof terrace area.

The application proposed the building to be constructed to the rear of Marine Parade.

However, the application has now been withdrawn.
