Preparations for this year’s Charter Day in Honiton are well underway.

The event will be held on Saturday, July 23, and will have the theme of the ‘Wild West’.

Gary Elliot, chair of Honiton Charter Day Committee, said: “We have signed up some exciting musical groups to perform in the High Street, a dog show, children’s rides, acts to perform at Allhallows Field and of course the traditional charity stalls.

“We do need a bit more help on the committee to ensure that everything is properly planned.”

The next committee meeting is this Thursday (April 7) at the bar in The Beehive, in Dowell Street.

The meeting, which starts at 6.30pm, is open to new members.

Anyone who cannot make the meeting but would like to help can leave a message for Mr Elliot at The Beehive’s reception.
