Whether or not the word retirement is appropriate to the situation that most 'baby boomers' find themselves in is not the issue regarding the suggestion that the word retirement be banned. Please, let's not talk of 'banning' certain words.
Whether or not the word retirement is appropriate to the situation that most 'baby boomers' find themselves in is not the issue regarding the suggestion that the word retirement be banned. Please, let's not talk of 'banning' certain words. If a word no longer adequately describes reality, it will eventually fall out of use. That is a question of lingustic 'fashion', whereas urging a ban on the use of words speaks more of linguistic 'fascism'. Let's not go down that particular Orwellian road.
