Plenty of reads available for pupils in Honiton

PUBLISHED: 07:00 17 October 2015

Honiton Primary School pupils are now prospering from a popular fundraiser held earlier this year.

‘Bounce for Books’, which saw youngsters sponsored for jumping around on a bouncy castle, was held at the school - raising £2,300 for its Parents, Teachers and Friends’ Association (PTFA) group.

Rachel Ward, chairman of the PTFA, said: “We were absolutely over the moon with the total. We knew that previously, the event was successful and we wanted to try it again.

“The parents and children came up trumps - it was a brilliant day and the kids loved it. Only one teacher was brave enough to go on the bouncy castle. The kids had a great time raising money.”

The books are still being delivered to Honiton Primary School and will be used by the school’s library and key stage one and key stage two pupils.

The PTFA would also like to thank Paul Hurford for supplying the bouncy castle for free on the day.
