With reference to proposed on-street parking charges in Seaton. There may be some room for manoeuvre as far as The Esplanade is concerned.

However, with regard to the proposed metering within the town centre itself, this would not only affect its already fragile wellbeing but would also only serve to drive even more trade out of its business area towards the large multiples, with their own parking facilities.

The meters would become a poisoned chalice.
