Police appeal following alleged sexual assault on teenage girl

The incident occurred at around 3.30pm on Monday, January 18 in the Battishorne Park area of the town.
Police in Honiton are appealing for information following an alleged sexual assault on a teenage girl.
The incident occurred at around 3.30pm on Monday, January 18 in the Battishorne Park area of the town.
The victim, a 17-year-old girl was walking in Whitmore Way, and had been aware for sometime of someone walking behind her.
Suddenly she was approached from behind by a young man who grabbed her before running off.

The victim was not injured but naturally shocked by the incident.
The offender is described as being aged approximately 16 to 17 years, 5’7” in height, medium build and wearing a black ‘puffy’ coat with fur around the hood, which was pulled over his head. He was carrying a large full rucksack.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone who has any information as to the identity of the offender.
