Police hunt Axminster sex attacker

Lone female assaulted as she walked through Belle Vue towards the town centre
Police at Axminster have issued an urgent appeal for information after a woman was sexually assaulted in the town centre.
The lone female was walking through Belle Vue towards the town centre when the attack took place on Wednesday (December 4), between 3.30pm and 3.45pm.
Her assailant is described as a white male around 5ft 11inches tall, with short dark straight hair, wearing a dark blue tracksuit/puffer top material and dark blue jeans or trousers.
He was last seen running off in the direction of West Street.

Axminster PC Simon Rodgers said they urgently want to hear from anyone who may have any information regarding the incident. They are asked to contact police by phoning them on 101 and quoting crime reference KA/13/653.
Officers say they are especially interested in hearing from a couple who helped the victim after the incident.

And they say they would appreciate it if all local businesses would check their CCTV systems to see whether a male matching the description entered their premises between 3pm and 4pm on the day of the assault.
The are asked to contact the police on 101 with any positive or negative replies.
