Police hunt burglar with unusual hat

Seaton house broken into and iPad and shoes stolen

Police are appealing for help to catch a burglar who broke into a house in Seaton over the Easter holiday.

It happened between around 11pm on Good Friday, March 25, and 8.30am the next morning.

Entry was gained via an insecure door and the thief stole an iPad Air and a new pair of Van trainers.

The offender left behind a distinctive woollen hat and a Tesco tortilla wrap -ype sandwich, still in its packaging.

The stolen iPad is silver, inside a purple and gold/brown flip case. The lace-up, adult size 9, trainers are black with a distinctive palm tree leaf type pattern. The distinctive woollen hat is a fawn/brown colour with ear flaps and tassels which has a black and white pattern around the mid part.

Police want anyone who knows anyone with such a distinctive hat to contact them. They also want to hear from anyone offered any of the stolen items.
