Police name accident victim

POLICE have formally named a driver killed in a collision on the A30, near Honiton, on Sunday.

POLICE have formally named a driver killed in a collision on the A30, near Honiton, on Sunday. Peter Tonkin, 52, of Salisbury, was driving a white Citroen Berlingo van at Monkton, travelling towards Honiton, when the vehicle crossed the carriageway and left the road at about 3.20am. Mr Tonkin was declared dead at the scene. Police have said no other vehicle was involved in the accident. The A30 was closed in both directions for almost six hours. Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to call 08452 777444.
