Police are re-appealing for information after a serious sexual assault on a man at Beech Road, Honiton, on Thursday, March 26, 2009.

Police are re-appealing for information after a serious sexual assault on a man at Beech Road, Honiton, on Thursday, March 26, 2009.

Police have today, Wednesday, April 1, released an efit of one of the men believed responsible for the assault which happened at around 7.45pm.

Police also believe a piece of rope was used to hold the victim around his next neck during the ordeal and that he was bundled into a dark red coloured van.

Detectives are now hoping the picture and further information will lead to vital information coming from the local community.

Acting Detective Inspector Darran Hill, who is leading the enquiry, said: "We are hopeful someone locally will recognise the man pictured in the efit or might have seen the red van in the area at the time on Thursday.

"We have already carried out extensive enquiries and have a large investigation team working on this incident, but we are keen to speak to anyone who may have that important piece of information to identify the offenders.

"The 25-year-old victim of this crime has been left traumatised and unable to work since."

The two offenders were both white men. One is described as 6ft tall, aged around 45 years with dark hair, who suffered leg injury as a result of the assault.

The other attacker was also 6ft tall with dark swept back hair.

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or 08452 777444, quoting reference 103 27/03/09.
