143 vehicles found flouting the speed limit.
Police in Honiton are continuing to crack down on drivers who ignore speed limits.
Neighbourhood beat manager PC Mark Carnall told Honiton Town Council that the police had been responding to recent concerns raised by the public about speeding in Kings Road, where the speed limit was recently reduced.
Speed detection monitors were deployed five times during November 19 and 27 between the times of 11am and 4.30pm. The meeting heard that 143 vehicles were found to be travelling over 36mph in the 30mph limit.
PC Carnall said: “We will be following this up as it does show a high number of vehicles picking up speed out of the town, which is an area for us to look at.”
The findings will be sent to the road casualty reduction officer and Devon Highways.
