POLICE are urging drivers to check their vehicles during the winter months.
Devon and Cornwall police is reminding people to make sure all the lights on their vehicle are in full working order.
Many vehicles have been spotted in the region through poor driving conditions without their lights being switched on.
A police spokesman said: "The inclement weather we have endured over the last month or so also means that fully functional vehicle lighting is required, even during daylight hours.
"Furthermore, it is a statutory requirement under the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations, 1989, to ensure that all obligatory lamps are in working order. Please do not let defective lights contribute to an unnecessary accident.
