Search on to find an alternative venue in Honiton.

The search is on to find a replacement polling station for Honiton’s forthcoming town poll.

Electors will be asked if they wish the town council to proceed with plans for a community centre on May 10 - but The King’s Centre, in the St Michael’s ward, has been ruled out as a polling station.

It has been revealed the centre has been “double-booked”.

A statement, issued by Honiton Town council, says: “Over the past week the district council has been trying to find a suitable alternative venue for the polling station to serve the electors in St Michael’s ward, but this has proved to be very difficult due to the lack of halls in the area.”

As soon as an alternative polling station is found, the Midweek Herald will be notified - so watch this space.

No polling cards are being issued for the vote. Electors are asked to just turn up between 4pm and 9pm.
