YOUNG people want to engage with Honiton Town Council much to the relief of councillors.

YOUNG people want to engage with Honiton Town Council - much to the relief of councillors.They feared efforts to set up a youth council could fail through lack of interest. But after contacting schools in the town, clerk Lyn Hargood discovered young people would welcome closer ties with the council - through their own school councils.Honiton Community Primary School pupils have even prepared a DVD for councillors to view - explaining plans they have for a community project.Mrs Hargood is to continue to liaise with schools to find out how best to go forward."The impetus has come from the actual schools, which is better," said Councillor Vernon Whitlock.Councillors hope to visit a successful youth council in Sidmouth.
