Kilmington woman wins £2,000 worth of items in Axminster firm’s charity raffle

Friday 13 proved lucky for Kilmington woman Tina Potts when she won over £2,000 worth of prizes in a raffle.

The Mega Prize Draw was organised by members of Axminster Tools and Machinery’s ‘Aspire’ team.

The group sold over 600 tickets and raised £1,150 for Children’s Hospice South West.

The draw took place on Friday, December 13, and was conducted by sales director Alan Styles.

The winner took home a whole range of items – including a flat screen TV, various Makita, Bosch and Festool power tools, Exeter Chiefs and Yeovil Town tickets, and much more.

Aspire is a learning and development programme launched by Axminster Tools and Machinery in 2013. The programme aims to harness the skills of nine individuals by working on group and individual projects, along with gaining support from a mentor within the company and an outside business coach.

Such projects are designed to give the nine individuals the opportunity to try out different skills ranging from leadership and motivation to financial management and organisational flair.

The group have been set a target to raise £5,000 for Children’s Hospice South West over the 18 month programme and have already topped that by £195.
