SOUTH West Trains has found a new way to deter non-rail users from abusing its car park at Honiton Railway Station.It has almost doubled the daily parking charge.Like Honiton Community Hospital and residential streets, the railway station has become a magnet for tight-fisted car drivers, who don't want to pay to park in designated areas.From Wednesday last week, the daily charge for non-rail users to park at Honiton Railway Station rose to £4.30.The daily charge for rail users is £2 cheaper at £2.30.Notices warning motorists of the new charges are prominently displayed on large signs at the station.Pay and display charges at East Devon District Council car parks have displaced vehicles across a wide area of the town.Orchard Way, Lilley Walk and Jerrard Crescent are favourites for those determined to avoid the charges.Even Honiton Community Hospital has fallen victim to the problem.Devon Primary Care Trust is rumoured to be considering a pay and display scheme - to deter non-hospital users.WHAT do you think?
