Promotion of the arts in Honiton

ONE of Honiton's most thriving organisations has launched a new service in the town to promote the arts.

ONE of Honiton's most thriving organisations has launched a new service in the town to promote the arts.Honiton Decorative and Fine Arts Society and Honiton Library have jointly launched the scheme, which will be linked to the society's monthly lecture programme.The programme runs from October to June next year and a corner of the library will be dedicated to the Arts Book Loan Scheme throughout.A poster display, promoting the scheme, will be at the library all this week.The scheme is open to all and the first books available will be on the subject of Italian architect Andrea Palladio and the great houses of Britain.Bob Pettitt, the society's chairman, and publicity officer Heather Penwarden are pictured launching the scheme at Honiton Library.
