Proposed crossing not preferred option

HIGHWAYS Agency plans for a pedestrian crossing in Monkton Road, Honiton, are not a solution for safety concerns in neighbouring Kings Road, town councillors agree.

HIGHWAYS Agency plans for a pedestrian crossing in Monkton Road, Honiton, are not a solution for safety concerns in neighbouring Kings Road, town councillors agree.At a planning committee meeting, councillors said a crossing for Monkton Road would only be acceptable if one is provided in Kings Road, too.A signalised crossing serving both roads remains councillors' preferred option, said Councillor Dianne Morgan who has long campaigned for safety improvements along the A35 in Honiton.
