Youngsters at Lyme comprehensive raise £1,200 for Children in Need
VIP guest Pudsey Bear helped students at The Woodroffe School, Lyme Regis, raise over £1,200 for Children in Need.
There was a wide variety of events and more than 25 youngsters – and a couple of teachers - braved a sponsored leg waxing, with daring Year 11 student Stephen Cable having his eyebrows removed, too.
Cakes made by the students during economic classes were sold to raise money and there were raffles and competitions.
Payment for not wearing school uniform and a silent auction also contributed to the total, along with a football match between staff and sixth formers.
Headteacher Dr Richard Steward, said: “I was delighted by the way in which the students embraced this year’s Children In Need day and I am amazed by the total they have raised. Well done to everyone who took part. They have certainly set the bar high for next year.”
