Los Toros win Spanglovision song contest - it’s no bull!
Red and yellow were the colours of the day at Chard School when pupils celebrated all things Spanish
Dressed in colourful costumes, the children took part in a range of activities including sampling food at 'El Cerdic' tapas bar, creating mosaic art in the style of Gaudí and taking part in a multi-sport tournament.
Later four teams gathered in the school chapel to compete in a 'Spanglovision' song contest. It was a closely run thing but the 'Bulls' (Los Toros) were the winners.
Modern foreign languages teacher, Julie Bartoli, thanked the parents for their support and pupils in Year 6 for their 'invaluable' help in running the event, along with all the members of staff.
She said: "Spanish day is a great way of immersing the children in the culture and language of Spain, of widening their horizons and ultimately encouraging a passion for the learning of modern languages."
