All Saints Primary School youngsters donate 75 to the RNLI - enough to buy fuel for two ‘shouts’
Pupils at All Saints Primary School have helped to keep the RNLI’s finances afloat.
They raised 75 for the life-saving charity at their harvest festival - enough money to pay for a lifeboat’s fuel on two ‘shouts.’
Last week youngsters presented the cheque to long-serving Lyme Regis lifeboat crew member Garry Gibbs,
Accepting the money he told them: “Every donation is important to our charity, and this one would literally help our lifeboat to go to sea on two emergency calls by covering the cost of fuel.”
Acting headmaster Martin O’Mahony said: “The children wanted to raise money for the RNLI because they were thinking of the harvest we get from the sea and how fishermen are often helped by the lifeboat crew.”
