Woodroffe students take a trip to the D-Day beaches and Normandy landing museum

AXMINSTER’S French twin town of Douvre la Délivrande was the destination for a party of 31 year 9 students from The Woodroffe School.

They spent a week attending lessons in the school there and going on various visits, including an underwater museum, William the Conqueror’s abbey and tomb, the Normandy landing museum at Arromanches and a biscuit factory in Asnelles-sur-mer, Charmouth’s twin village. They also spent a day in Caen, the chief city of the Calvados region.
