Walk along the Gissage is ruined.
A PUPPY was savaged by another dog while being walked by its owner in Honiton.
Pebbles, a spaniel collie-cross, was attacked at 3.15pm on Monday, January 24) when she was being walked by her owner, Linda Bennett, along the Gissage riverside walk.
During the attack, the 14-week-old puppy sustained lacerations above her right eye, which had to be stapled, as well as bruising.
Pebbles was attacked by a large black dog, which Linda describes as having ‘spaniel ears’.
She said: “I don’t know why the dog attacked Pebbles.
“It just turned very quickly and viciously.
“It could have been a child; that is always a worry.
“The dog should have been muzzled if it is going to behave like that.”
Linda has been trying to integrate Pebbles with other dogs and hopes this has not spoiled her progress.
She is also warning other dog owners to take care when walking their dogs.
The Midweek Herald understands that East Devon’s dog warden has been informed of the incident.
