Purrfect fundraiser for cats and kittens in Honiton

PUBLISHED: 07:00 04 July 2016

Honiton Cats Protection supporters and volunteers enjoyed a successful fundraising evening at a foster home.

Thanks to the support of the following businesses - Everys solicitors, B’Stow, Dave Thorpe Honda Off-road Centre, Mole Valley Farmers and The Vale Veterinary Group - the evening raised over £420, which will be used to care for cats and kittens across the parish.

Four kittens were a big draw on the night - Prince, Nelson, Wendy and Lisa were born on a farm, but not wanted. They will be having their first vaccinations this week before being advertised for new homes – though Wendy was reserved on the night! Fosterer Heidi said: “We all work hard to ensure that the cats are healthy before they go to a new home, but this does take money.

“Some comes from the adoption fee and some from our shop in Honiton High Street, but it’s nice to have a get-together too and even better when that raises funds.

“Of course, meeting all the cats here was a bonus.”
