Axminster playgroup receives £3,224 towards the cost of new outdoor toy storage facilities

Rainbow under 5s Playgroup, in Axminster, has struck gold with its bid for lottery funding.

The organisation has received a grant for £3,224 towards the cost of outdoor toy storage and accessible nursery furniture.

The group has purchased two new garden sheds to store outside equipment, keeping it in good condition for the children to use safely.

Playgroup leader Clare Male said: “The children greatly benefit from outdoor physical play, learning healthy habits regarding exercise and learning physical skills such as ball games, sports etc.

“The children also are enjoying the bright colourful accessible toy storage and are more able to access their toys easily in a child centred friendly environment. It enables them to make their own decisions and enjoy their play and learning and develop independence. “
