Local supporters are staging a coffee morning at Axminster Church Rooms
Axminster and Seaton Marie Curie Fundraising Group is holding a fundraising coffee morning today (Thursday, August 6).
It takes place at the Church Rooms in Axminster from 9am to 12pm. There will be tea and coffee, plus a cake stall, bric-a-brac, and a raffle for a bottle of wine.
The Axminster and Seaton Marie Curie Fundraising Group support Marie Curie by raising awareness and funds in the local community.
Member Sandy Sinclair said: “All of the money we raise stays locally. Please come along to our event, have some coffee and cake and help us raise funds to support people in the local area”
Marie Curie provides care and support to people living with a terminal illness. In Devon the Marie Curie team of 101 nurses and health care assistants care for more than 1400 patients in their homes every year. The care provided by Marie Curie takes place in their own home and is focused entirely on their needs and providing the best quality of life and care in their final weeks. It costs £20 an hour or £180 for a whole overnight care package for someone locally to be nursed by Marie Curie. All of the money raised in this event will go towards helping the local community get the care they need.
