Symbol of Honiton charity paraded at the Royal British Legion’s Festival of Remembrance in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen.
THE symbol of Honiton’s Baton charity was last night (Saturday) carried into the Royal Albert Hall by Royal Marine Ram Patten.
The Royal British Legion’s Festival of Remembrance was the final stop on Lance Corporal Patten’s hugely successful March for Honour. He had carried the Baton, which promotes support for forces personnel and their families, since setting off from Plymouth Hoe on November 4.
In the presence of Her Majesty the Queen and Prime Minister David Cameron, the Baton was carried into a packed Royal Albert Hall along with a Book of Remembrance which was signed by Army Cadets from Honiton.
Alan Rowe MBE, who is a patron of the March for Honour and founder of the Baton charity, was in the audience to witness the spectacle.
