Spotted flycatchers in Roundball Wood are a special treat for bird lovers.
HONITON was treated to a special visit from a rare summer migrant that was spotted in Roundball Wood.
Pairs of spotted Flycatchers have been seen in the area by Roundball Wood warden David Witt and are usually found from May to late July and early August.
The birds come to the UK to breed following a long migration over the winter in central Africa.
They have been spotted in the woods for a number of years and, this year, have been seen with their young.
