A quacking time was had on the River Otter as part of the Honiton and District Lions Club’s annual duck race.

The popular event, which is a strong earner in the club’s

annual fundraising calendar, was held on Sunday (August 13).

As well as the race, attendees enjoyed a china smashing stall, bouncy castle and variety of stalls selling plants, jams and bric-a-brac.

Lion David Rickard said: “It was very well supported - the weather contributed very much to the success of it.

“More than 2,800 tickets were sold for the year’s race, which is amazing, and the profits will be in excess of £3,000 - it’s a new record!

“We must thank all of our sponsors for providing all of the prizes for the draw and to all those who supported our event by buying a ticket.

“We always look to try to increase the amount we raise each year. Here’s hoping for sunny skies at next year’s

duck race.”
