THE RAF Falcons and Red Arrows will be appearing at the Lifeboat Week in Lyme Regis today (Wednesday, July 22).

THE RAF Falcons and Red Arrows will be appearing at the Lifeboat Week in Lyme Regis today (Wednesday, July 22).

The parachute display team will drop on the beach at 4.30pm and the RAF Red Arrows will give an aerobatic flying display at 6.30pm.

Events are lined-up all week from Saturday, July 18, to Sunday, July 26.

The emergency services day will take place on Saturday, July 25, with a series of demonstrations from the fire and rescue, ambulance, police, coastguards, lifeguards and lifeboat crew. Other entertainment includes a duck race, fun run, crab fishing competition, belly dancing, fancy dress, music nights, majorettes, classic cars, songs of praise, a bath tub race and a barbecue.

Events are as follow:

Thursday, July 23 - tour of the lifeboat station, sand sports, fancy dress competition, tug of war, Nag's Head barbecue and music.

Friday, July 24 - Lyme Regis bowling club drive at the Bowling Green, duck race, teddy bear's picnic in Theatre Square.

Saturday, July 25 - emergency vehicles from Holmbush car park to Marine Parde, lifeboat and rescue helicopter exercise with the Exmouth lifeboat, chip pan fire demonstration, car fire demonstration on the Parade, mud rescue by coastguards in the Harbour, road traffic collision and rescue on the Parade, coastguard cliff rescue through the gardens and shelters, Blackdown Steel Band performance, The Rescuers Cup - skittles match, grand firework display, and Good Old Boys in the Standard.
