TACKLING overgrown laurel and pruning more that was cut back last autumn, will keep volunteers busy at the Glen, Honiton, tomorrow (Thursday).They will meet at the Coronation Gate entrance near Pine Park Road, at 10am, for a three-hour session, which will also include weeding along the footpaths and watering newly-planted trees put in last month.At least two new volunteers will join regulars for the work said Councillor Alf Boom, who liaises between Honiton Town Council, which backs the project, and the 50 volunteers "on the mailing list"."Tim Woolgar, an experienced gardener, will lead the work and tells us what to do, and we provide all the tools needed," said Mr Boom."We have the full support of East Devon District Council, which provides heavy machinery and two workers to operate chainsaws, which are sometimes needed."If you would like to get involved with the Glen project as a volunteer, you can contact Mr Boom on (01404) 548745.
