New members needed to ensure Northcote Lane Area Residents’ Association continues in the town.

A residents’ association in Honiton is at risk of folding if membership numbers do not increase.

The Northcote Lane Area Residents’ Association is appealing for new members to come forward and ensure the group continues in the town.

Its secretary Lizzie Manley said: “This last two years membership has really fallen.

“If we don’t get new people I think it will fold. We need more members to come forward.”

The group currently meets at Dunning Court but Mrs Manley said that the fall in membership has meant it is harder to cover the costs of renting a room for meetings.

She added: “We work to improve our environment. The big issue at the moment is the broken glass and mess in Allhallows Field. We are also trying to get some support to have direct transport to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

“We need people to come forward and tell us issues that are important to them.”

Anyone in the EX14 postcode can join the residents’ association. For more information contact Lizzie on 01404 42398 or chairman Ken Sherman on 01404 44453.
